招生Students interested in the Associate of Applied Science Track must complete the following prerequisites:
• BIOL 2404 (Human Anatomy & Physiology).
• HPRS 1204 (Basic Health Professions Skills).
BIOL 2404 must be completed within five years and HPRS 1204 within two years of the start date of the fall semester during the program admission year.
Completion of both BIOL 2401 and BIOL 2402 can be used as a course substitution for BIOL 2404.

Students interested in the Associate of Applied Science Track must meet the following
GPA requirements:
Earn the highest GPA you can for the core requirements and prerequisites. GPA plays
a big role in the admission process. Applicants must be in good academic standing
with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Certificate Track Students must submit a copy of your credentials in a healthcare field--AND/OR--an employment verification form completed by your sleep lab/center manager verifying a minimum of one year of current work experience at a sleep lab/center.

Spots in the 多导睡眠图技术计划 are limited, and it is the responsibility of the Collin College staff (to the student, local community, and profession) to fill the seat with a student that can meet the goals of the program. 应用程序s are reviewed by the Program Director and the Program Faculty. For the AAS track, applicants will be notified the week after the application deadline to set up an interview to complete the application process. After the interview process is complete, the Director and faculty select up to 16 applicants per track (AAS and Certificate) who qualify. These applicants will be notified of their status via email by the end of June, and further instructions will be provided to complete the admission process at that time. The selected applicants must then notify the Director via email of their intention to join by the date specified in the email. Acceptance letters will outline all remaining requirements to complete the admissions process.

Please refer to the 技术障碍 Department's 功能能力/核心绩效标准 worksheet for a complete list of generally accepted skills that a polysomnographic technologist must possess to function safely and effectively in a variety of clinical settings. If a student is unable to meet any of the core performance standards listed in the 功能能力/核心绩效标准 worksheet, the student must identify all accommodations 要求 to meet the standards outlined. In some cases, accommodations may be formulated or recommended by the ACCESS Office by contacting them at 972-548-6648. (Please also see the information for the ACCESS Office on the Collin College website.)
Collin College complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by providing reasonable accommodations for students with documented disabilities. Students with disabilities are encouraged to make an appointment with an ACCESS advisor prior to applying to the 多导睡眠图技术计划 to allow for evaluation.
Since the 技术障碍 student will be in the hospital/clinical setting participating in patient care, all students will be drug tested prior to the start of the clinical rotation. The 多导睡眠图技术计划 may require a drug test prior to the start of any clinical assignment in any semester. For more information on the drug screening process, please consult the 技术障碍 Student Handbook, available from the Director.
A criminal background check will be 要求 of all students prior to entering the 多导睡眠图技术计划 and within 30 days of the start of the first clinical rotation. For more information, please contact the 技术障碍 Director.
Students are 要求 to carry personal health insurance while in the clinical portion of the Polysomnographic Technology Program. Proof of such insurance needs to be made available to the Director and Clinical Coordinator prior to clinical rotations. Students should be aware that eligibility for health insurance on their parent/guardian's health insurance may require the student to be a full-time enrolled student. The number of semester credit hours in which a student must be enrolled to be considered full-time is defined by Collin College. Students should check with the college's 招生 and Records Office to see if they qualify as full-time students.
The following immunizations are 要求 for clinical placement eligibility. These immunizations align with the requirements by the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) and the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council. 临床合作伙伴可能需要额外接种疫苗。 Clinical placement is contingent upon complying with the immunization requirements of our clinical partners. Some clinical partners require the COVID vaccine for employees and other populations, including students.

The series must be started before the application deadline, and proof must be included
with the completed application packet.

The Director reserves the right to accept transfer students from another accredited program. When a transfer student is being considered for entry into the Collin College 多导睡眠图技术计划, the following procedure is necessary:

- Send the catalog and course descriptions of the student's current Polysomnographic Technology program to the Director.
- Send a letter of recommendation and current status from the student's current program director/coordinator. This letter must include the program's accreditation status, the college's accreditation status, and the student's standing in the program.

Upon receipt of all the above, the Director, with the help of an academic advisor, will develop a degree plan for the student. This plan must be accepted by the student in writing and followed through. All the requirements of regular admission to the program are applicable to transfer students as well. Be advised that transferring students may have to repeat courses that they might have taken before to be equal with the Collin College program standards.
